ICI Certification
"It is my hope for ICI
that we will be stunned and awed by the complexity of God’s design for relationships."
-Dr. David Manock
What It Is
ICI's Certification Program is designed to seep participants in the Manock Integrative Method, a merging of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Intersubjectivity Psychoanalysis, and Image of God on a foundation of Neuroscience and Attachment Theory. Designed with Clinicians and Pastoral Counselors in mind, it aims to elevate pastoral counseling to a clinical standard as well as deepen the psychological and theological integration of interns and therapists.
- Join an intimate cohort of lay, pastoral, and clinical counselors and journey with this same group for two years
- Learn from instructors trained in Attachment Theory, EFT and IS
- Be supervised by Dr. David Manock who received his training in EFT directly from Dr. Sue Johnson (read more here)
- Develop an internal counseling working model that integrates the science of relationship and the theology of relationship, together disclosing and revealing that humans are neuro-wired and created for relationship
- Work at your own pace. Work through the core courses and the levels of certification at a rate that matches your goals
- Receive ICI Certification affirming a counselor's integration of the MIM in both theory and practice
- Be eligible for ICI Affiliation, an ongoing connection to ICI and a signal to the community of your training
- Earn Continuing Ed credits for licensing purposes
- Learn how to form your own private practice
The ICI Certification track consists of: 20 Core Courses and 5 Pillar Courses (all day seminars), more than 80 hours of group supervision, up to 40 hours of individual supervision, and two intensive 3-day working retreats. Each Core Course provides 10 hours of CE units.
There are four levels of ICI certification available with each level building on the last.
"Based upon neuroscience,
psychology can move beyond Western self-identity, self-worth, self-agency, self-efficacy, and self-autonomy to self-other worth, self-other identity, etc.
We move from 1-person psychology to 2-person psychology."
-Dr. David Manock
